First Edition: The Clear-Headed Edit
All the linen. None of the liquor. A note on choosing a clear-headed life in good taste.
I'm sober. All the way. Not sober from alcohol, not sober-ish, not sober with an asterisk for the things that don't count.
It took a while to get here. I've been sober, and I've been not sober, and then sober again. I tried the version where you put down the drink but keep the old story. I tried the version where you make it look effortless before it actually feels that way. I tried the version where you wait for a perfect reason to choose yourself.
There isn't one. There is only the next honest choice.
The clear-headed edit
Preppy & Sober is for the life that opens up after that choice. It is not about shrinking your world or sitting out the good parts. It is about noticing that the good parts were never in the glass to begin with.
The table is still set. The linen is still pressed. The trip still happens. The conversation gets better. The morning belongs to you.
A clear-headed life is not a compromise. It is a point of view. It is choosing what stays, what goes, and what gets your full attention.
In good taste
Taste is personal. So is sobriety. Neither needs to be performed for anyone else.
Here, we are interested in the rituals that make a day feel considered: a good shirt, a long walk, a dinner that lasts, a room with the windows open, a plan for tomorrow that you are excited to keep. We are interested in pleasure without the aftermath and confidence without the costume.
There is room for humor. There is room for glamour. There is room for the complicated middle of becoming someone you trust.
One day at a time
The phrase can sound small until you live it. One day at a time is how a life changes shape. It is how you learn what you actually like. It is how you become available for your own mornings, your own friendships, your own ideas.
This is the first edition of Preppy & Sober. Consider it an open door: a place for essays, rituals, recommendations, and the occasional reminder that a beautiful life does not require checking out of it.
All the linen. None of the liquor.
Welcome to the clear-headed edit.
